About Ludgate Hub
Originally a cinema from 1941 to 1981, then a bakery, the premises remained unused until Ludgate Hub transformed it into a hub of innovation, fostering the growth of fringe enterprises. The hub aims to promote job creation through digital technology, with a vision to establish Skibbereen as a hub for technology start-ups and multinational companies on a global scale.
Prospective members are required to complete a 12-15 minute online application process. Once accepted, members can choose between flexible ad hoc membership or live-in arrangements. The coworking space spans 10,000 square feet and offers a range of amenities, including laptop rentals, hot desks, dedicated workspaces, Wi-Fi access, secure 24/7 premises entry, locker storage, and a communal kitchen.
Members have access to workshops, mentoring sessions, as well as meeting and training rooms. These spaces can be booked by the public via email and can accommodate varying group sizes. The Google hangout room is equipped for 4-12 people with collaborative touch screens, while the O'Driscoll Suite can host 6-10 individuals for presentations. The Training and Workshop space can accommodate up to 50 people in a theater-style setup, with catering options available and additional amenities like notepads, pens, flipcharts, and whiteboards.
