About Hastings Commons - The Observer Building

Hastings Commons is a community-driven initiative focused on revitalizing the local area. Since 2014, they have acquired and renovated over 8,000 square meters of floor space in various buildings in Hastings, offering affordable rents and fostering collaboration among residents and businesses. The Observer Building, a significant structure spanning 4,000 square meters and seven floors, has undergone essential repairs and refurbishment since becoming part of the Commons project. Currently, the building provides cost-effective workspace, shared desk options, a 500-person capacity venue, and a technology hub known as OBX. Additionally, the Alley Hall is home to 1066 Crossfit gym, with future plans including the development of affordable housing and a public rooftop garden.
